Care Provider
Cynthia Jurado, ARNP, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner Cynthia Jurado has always had an interest in cancer even from a young age. She would read journals on cancer and cancer treatments, and watch documentaries on cancer. When Cynthia became a CNA, she had the opportunity to work at a hospital’s Surgery/Oncology floor which grew her interest and love for the field even more. After becoming a nurse and getting chemo-certified and working more closely with oncology patients, Cynthia had a whole new perspective on cancer. Although many times the situations in oncology can be difficult, being able to see the positives of it such as patients beating cancer is something that makes her happy.
Cynthia started working as a medical oncology nurse at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center in 2020. She wanted to become a nurse practitioner because of a lack of bilingual providers in the area. She realized that being able to speak two languages and having her cultural background was a big advantage and allowed her to build deeper personal connections with her patients as well as have a better understanding of their healthcare needs.
Cynthia is very family-oriented and says she treats each person she cares for with the same time, dedication, and commitment and works to address their unique needs. Cynthia’s responsibility, hard work, and compassion have shown through her journey to become a nurse practitioner.
Cynthia is married and has two children. She enjoys traveling with her family as well as listening to music and cooking. Coming from a Hispanic family, cooking
authentic home meals is something she enjoys. Cynthia also still loves to watch documentaries.
